Inexpensive
ways to sell your home faster… New
paint and carpets are probably the best ways to freshen up a home for
sale and maximize its appeal to prospective buyers.
But there are several things a homeowner can do that cost nothing
or next to nothing which can also increase your price and reduce your
selling time. ·
De-clutter
everywhere! This
is probably one of the cheapest and easiest things a home seller can do
to improve the overall look of their home.
You need to pack for moving eventually, so why not get a head
start on it now by packing up some of the clutter in your home.
·
Put
away personal items such as family photos, trophies, and especially
valuables. Reduce
accessories by one third. ·
Be
sure the dishes are always washed and put away.
Take down the kids’ art work from the refrigerator along with
all the magnets and notes. Clean
the sink, oven and stove. ·
Make
sure the house is kept neat and clean and fresh-smelling (no pet or
smoke odors); make all beds; keep toys and clothing off the floor and
the bathrooms wiped down and in guests-are-coming condition. ·
Always
have a vase of fresh flowers on the dining table while your house is on
the market. ·
Add a
potted flowering plant to the front porch.
·
Keep
all window coverings open for more light. ·
Consider
renting storage space if you have a lot of clutter to store.
Or, think about having a garage sale before your house goes on
the market. Contact
